Palma Violets - Best of Friends

[I always forget when coming back from Coachella people ask me what I thought were the best bands. I didn’t prefab an answer but my first thoughts were IO Echo, Savages and Palma Violets. All great engaging live shows with guitars and distinct personalities. Violets have sort of broken my trend of listening to female leads. DIIV, Major Lazer, Bat for Lashes, Tame Impala, Simian Mobile Disco, Wild Nothing, New Order and OMD were all great too. I missed a LOT of bands though. The Stone Roses were so so but I can at least mark off the last of my all time top 10 bands of forever that aren’t The Beatles. This was my 7th blur show but far from my favorite they finally played me my favorite blur song of all time “Sing”.]

I miss Cabrito. I was just on Carmine, actually, looking at the space’s new resident (Fatty ‘Cue) and remembering fondly the all-you-can-eat tacos with the all-you-can-drink pitchers of beer.

It turns out I can eat eleven (!!!!!!) tacos and drink a pitcher and a half of beer.

Two dogs are seen guarding a bicycle in Nanjing, capital of southern China’s Guangxi Province. According to owner Luo Ganren, the pair are protective of him and his possessions. My bike has no lock, and I never worry it would be stolen, thanks to my two puppies. They will guard the bike by holding the bars until they see me back.
